THE OLD WEST RAMBLERS


Traditional American Music Old Time Band

created at the end of the 2006 year in the Paris region of France
by two veterans of western show
under the name of The Country Ramblers,
which took part regularly throughout the years
until 2021 in Country and Western shows, concerts,
animations with dances, and attractions.

The band ceased its activity after fifteen years of existence in August 2021.

All the roots of American traditional music
in a Western festive ambiance!



REPERTOIRE

Music and Songs of the Pioneers of the Old American West,
Old Time, Hillbilly, Bluegrass, Cowboy and Folk Songs, Dance Tunes.

Animations with initiation to the Virginia Reel,
an American traditional longway set dance.


LAST COMPOSITION

Jesse G. S.: Co-founder of the band,
former member of the "Paris Western Club" – the "Sheriff Dad and his Cowboys"
and singer-banjoist of the "Enfants de Saloon" of the time,
he charms us since more than 50 years with his western approach
and his old traditional songs accompanied on his 5 string banjo.
He has performed in numerous western shows, notably
at "Robinson Village" and at the "Vallée des Peaux-Rouges".

Jean-Pierre L.: Co-founder of the band,
former founding president of the "Paris Texas Club"
and fan of old time western and of square dance,
he plays washtub bass and washboard since more than 50 years.
He has performed amongst others in shows with Gabe Chen and Phyliform.
He is a horseman, a collector and always have the western approach.

François J.: Talented dobroist and guitarist,
he has performed in shows with The Country Ramblers at their beginning
and ended up to join The Old West Ramblers.

Philippe B.: Guitarist and banjoist
spécialised among other in bluegrass music,
he enthusiastically accepted to join the band.

Jean-Marc P.: Well-known bassist and guitarist,
he has also accepted to join the band.

Jean-Pierre C.: Talented fiddler,
he has wanted strongly to join the band despite its geographical remoteness.

Marc J.: Western horseman emeritus,
he attached a broom handle, a string and a wood wedge to his washtub
and is since then one of the few guys who plays washtub bass,
sometimes replaced by the charming Assia L.
